BREVETS
At various times throughout the year, South Florida Randonneurs (as well as other clubs around the country/world) host scheduled cycling events known as brevets. You must be a current member of RUSA and pre-register to ride one of our brevets. Brevets can be sanctioned by different organizations, such as ACP or RUSA.
Completing an ACP-sanctioned 200, 300, 400, and 600k brevet series in a single calendar year qualifies riders for the Super Randonneur Award. Completing ten SR series over any number of years qualifies a rider for the Ultra Randonneur Award. (At least one RUSA member has completed ten Ultra Randonneur Awards, and one of them was earned in a single calendar year. Yikes!)

PERMANENTS
RUSA members may also ride any of a large and ever-growing number of permanents in Florida and around the rest of the country. Permanents are designated routes sanctioned by RUSA. Permanents are always (permanently) available, may be ridden on a date and time of the rider's choosing, and can be any distance of 200km or longer. Permanent populaires are between 100 and 199km. You can learn more about permanents and how to ride them at https://www.rusa.org/pages/permanents. (Note that there are some minor differences in the rules between brevets and permanents.)
